Well Within Psychotherapy

Sarah Santoro, MSW, LICSW, RYT

Getting help during difficult times can be an overwhelming prospect, but can also lead to greater life satisfaction.  My style as a psychotherapist is to create a warm, inviting environment and provide supportive counseling that encourages exploration of problems from a compassionate and non-judgmental perspective. I help people gain increased understanding of how change, loss, relationship problems, and stress can impact functioning, while learning new ways to cope with these issues effectively.  Collaboration is central to my work, including working together to define goals and carefully monitoring progress throughout the course of treatment.

I am a graduate of the Smith College School for Social Work and have been a practicing clinician for the last six years.  I am currently affiliated with the Brigham and Women's Department of Psychiatry where I work with a multidisciplinary team to treat a range of problems, including: mood disorders, substance abuse, and co-occurring medical issues. I am well connected to a network of prescribing physicians for medication management.

My training as a yoga teacher allows me to incorporate mind/body techniques for symptom management and stress reduction. I am also trained in psychodynamic/relational therapy, couples/family therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I offer evening and Saturday appointments. I accept all Blue Cross Blue Shield plans and I am an out-of-network provider for most PPO plans, including Tufts, Cigna and Aetna.  Please contact me for more information about my services.
